RAMOS TO MISS CL MATCH
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is set to miss Champions League clash with Ajax due to a calf injury. The Spanish international felt discomfort in the muscle on Tuesday, and the pain has increased to the extent that his non-participation in the clash at the Santiago Bernabeu has been confirmed.
If the injury continues to cause Sergio Ramos pain, he could well be missing from the trip to San Sebastian to face Real Sociedad at the weekend, but he will have to undergo a thorough medical examination in order to assess the full extent of the injury.
INTER INTERESTED IN KAKA
Inter Milan are interested in signing Kaka according to reports. Inter Milan director Marco Tronchetti Provera said, "I would like to see Kaka play for Inter. The player we saw at Milan was great, and I would like to see him wear the Nerazzurri shirt." "Inter have signed many great players and you can see this by the champions the take to the field on Sundays.
MOURINHO WOULD REJECT PORTUGAL
Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas says that Jose Mourinho will not be tempted by temporary Portugal role. The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) want Mourinho to lead the national team for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Denmark and Iceland in October after Carlos Queiroz was dismissed from the post.
Although Mourinho has said he wants to coach his national team at some point in his career, Iker Casillas believes the former Porto, Chelsea and Inter tactician already has enough work to do in Madrid.
BENZEMA NOT LEAVING MADRID
Benzema's agent has cooled the talk of Karim Benzema's Real Madrid exit. Benzema's future has been the subject of much speculation after a disappointing first season in Spain following his move from Lyon. He started only 14 La Liga games for Real last season, scoring eight goals, and as a result missed out on a place in the France squad for the World Cup finals.
Juventus, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with a move for the 22-year-old when the transfer market re-opens, but it seems his agent is not interested in brokering a deal for his player.
COLOCCINI HAPPY AT TOON
Fabricio Coloccini says that he is happy in Toon at last. The Argentinian international defender today revealed to the Chronicle how he feared his Toon career was over before it had barely started.
He arrived in a big-money move from Deportivo La Coruna with ambitions to star for the black-and-whites in Europe. Within months of making the switch from La Liga, though, Coloccini found himself embroiled in a relegation battle with the Magpies.
SALGADO FACING FITNESS TEST
Michel Salgado is set to undergo a fitness test to decide his participation in Blackburn's home game with Spurs. Sam Allardyce will hand late fitness tests to both Ryan Nelsen and Michel Salgado ahead of the clash with, with Salgado only rated with a 30% chance of playing. Its more likely he'll end up in the Tottenham Hospitality Packages.
HUTH SCORES THE WINNER
An Injury-time Robert Huth strike helped Stoke City grab all three points. In the final minute of the match Stoke grabbed a dramatic winner through Huth. HODGSON CONFIDENT OVER KONCHESKY
Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Paul Konchesky should be fit for Liverpool's clash with Steaua Bucharest. The former Fulham player was forced to out of the action on his debut after 77 minutes with a tight hamstring. However, his manager Roy Hodgson confirmed that the substitution was purely precautionary and the England international should be in Europa League action this week.
BARTON ENJOYING COMPETITION
Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton says that he is very much enjoying the competition for places at Newcastle. The 28-year-old faces competition for his place in the side following new arrivals at the club, although he has started every league game so far this season.

FERDINAND IMPRESSES
Anton Ferdinand is continuing to impress after putting his row with Steve Bruce behind him. The Sunderland manager had accused Anton Ferdinand of exaggerating the extent of a hamstring injury and, once the shouting and expletive-laden insults stopped, Bruce made concerted efforts to move the former West Ham centre-half out of the Stadium of Light before the transfer window closed. No deal was done and, after pondering Bruce's scathing deconstruction of his character and game, Ferdinand opted to say sorry before vowing to prove his critics wrong.
